Instruments I Teach:

  • Piano
  • Voice
  • Violin

  • Bachelor of Music – Classical Voice (WAAPA)
  • Graduate Diploma of Music – Classical Voice Performance (WAAPA)

Teaching Methodology:

I believe that teaching in the Classical style provides the best foundation of musical and technical skill, allowing my students to excel in any genre that appeals to them in the future. As a vocalist I am always amazed at the benefits that singing offers for those learning any instrument, and as such it is an ‘instrumental’ part of my teaching (if you’ll pardon the pun!). Children are such quick learners but their bodies (most importantly their hands and their voices) aren’t fully developed yet, so it’s important to teach slowly and methodically to prevent bad habits before they can arise. I love to use imaginative games that not only create a fun learning environment, but also encourage good musicianship over time.

Greatest Accomplishment:

  • Helen Court Award – Best Classical Musician (2014)
  • North of Perth Eisteddfod – 1st Place (Classical Voice division 2011)
