What ages do you teach?
Children and Adults of all ages. Check out our ‘Junior Jammers’ music classes for Toddlers!
How many people in a class?
Whether you want one-on-one instrumental lessons or to be part of small group classes and workshops, we have something to suit your needs.
What Instruments do you teach?
Guitar (bass/electric/acoustic/classical), Piano, Voice/Singing, Drums, Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet, Clarinet and more!
What other Programs do you offer?
Apart from our individual and group tuition programs, KMA is continually developing specialist programs run by our professional musicians and educators. From the KMA Rock Band, Choir and other small ensemble groups, to School Holiday Workshops and performances at local community events such as Walk the Zig Zag and our KMA End-of-Semester Concerts, we aim to offer the most holistic approach to your music education.
How much does it cost?
Lesson prices vary and are based on your chosen lesson length and whether you have enrolled for group lessons or individual lessons.
Are lesson payments flexible?
We offer various payment options including upfront payment or Direct Debit.
When can I start?
You can Enroll any time throughout the year. Feel free to contact us for an Enrolment Form, which will give you all the information you need.
I’m old – Is it too late to start?
You’re never too old to start learning with us. We’ve taught students in their 70’s!
I’m a beginner, what levels do you teach?
We teach all levels from someone who has never picked up an instrument to a bedroom virtuoso! Our qualified staff will tailor your lesson to your individual needs.
I don’t want to make mistakes!
Often mistakes are great catalysts for lasting progress in your playing. Our job is to empower you. Don’t worry about mistakes!
Do you support those who want to study seriously?
Yes! Our staff have prepared students for successful entry into WAAPA (Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts) and other Tertiary Education (for example, TAFE). Whether you’re a beginner or preparing for an audition or WACE Exam, you’ve come to the right place!
Do you offer AMEB Grading Exams?
Yes! You can discuss this with your Teacher who has a good knowledge of the Examination process, and will provide you with everything you need to succeed in your exam.
Do you give theory lessons?
Yes! Often, students studying Year 11 and 12 WACE Courses (Stage 2 and 3) may struggle with the theoretical side of music class. Don’t worry! We’re here to help!Please contact us if you would like to arrange music theory lessons and we will place you with the teacher that has the best content knowledge of your study stream (i.e. Western Art/Classical, Contemporary or Jazz). You’ll be writing cadences, spelling scales and chords, and dictating melody and rhythm with ease in no time!
Do you offer a discount for paying in a larger block of lessons?
If you would like to pay for more than the lessons you’ll have in one Term, please contact us and we can work out the best option for you.
Do you have Bands/Ensembles?
Yes! The KMA Band Program commenced in Term 4 2014. Playing with other people is a fantastic way to build your overall musicianship, meet like-minded musical students and have a heap of fun in the process! For more information click on the ‘KMA Band Program’ at the top of the Home Page.
